Following are comparisons between various third-party tools which allow you to manipulate the Biotics database.  TORA & Toad are equivalent, so only TORA is referenced here.  The attached documents indicate how to work in TORA & SQL Developer to accomplish various tasks.  Make sure to start with the articles on each of the applications within the Biotics 5 online help regarding Connecting to the Biotics 5 database.


TORA
- Third party software product
- Can be used with Oracle 9i or 10g or 11g
- Allows login by biotics_report, biotics_dlink

- Available for Oracle 10g or 11g

Oracle Enterprise Manager
- Oracle software product
- Available for Oracle 9i, 10g (aka Database Controls), and 11g
- Requires login by system user to which Biotics 5 users do not have privileges; hence documentation not included.
- Enables changes to database and therefore potentially dangerous!
