Description:

Line feed characters (chr(10) or ascii code Alt+012) have been found in Tracker text fields. They are invisible (they do not cause a line break or blank line), but they may cause problems when exporting the data to a .txt file.

Cause:

Known to occur in some data brought into Biotics from Access. Exact mechanism not known. May get in through other data upload methods as well.

Resolution:

Run a query in Biotics Query Builder on any field or fields you suspect may be affected. A script with instructions is attached. The query will identify records with problems, and then an update query can be run (on one field at a time) to fix it.
