There are a number of standard Crystal Reports already available in the Data Management Community section of the SharePoint site. Within Documents, see Crystal Reports. The BioticsCRs_v11.zip file contains the Crystal Reports used in Biotics 5, created by NatureServe. To create new reports based on these (rather than starting from scratch), follow the instructions in the Updating existing Crystal Reports to Connect to the Biotics 5 Database help topic.
NOTE: To utilize a Crystal Report within Biotics 5 via the Print Report functionality, use the following settings:
- Datasource Location: OLE DB (ADO)
- OLE DB Provider: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers
- ODBC Data Source: Biotics5 as indicated in Configuring your connection to Biotics 5
- User ID: biotics_report
- Parameter - a single parameter using a number field based on either working list id or record id. The application sends the ID for the selected working list or record to the report. Range values will not work, nor will string values.
There are many other Crystal Reports available within the same section of the SharePoint site created by network members, however upon moving to the new SharePoint site, the information regarding who created the reports was lost.
The Biotics 5 support team does not maintain and manage the SharePoint site itself however if you have a question, do not yet have a log in or can't remember your log in to SharePoint you can send an email to NatureServe's IT support staff at [email protected] for assistance.
