This is to alert you that the D_DIGITIZING_BASE_CD field, and the associated unique constraint, will be dropped from the D_DIGITIZING_BASE table in the next release, 5.10.4, scheduled for February 21, 2018.

Following is an explanation of why this is being done:

The column has not been populated using any sort of meaningful code value. Instead, it has been populated with the primary key value.

The presence of the associated constraint, combined with the fact that this column doesn't have a meaningful value, complicates the ability for ongoing data exchange to deal with these domain values. Because the column isn't serving a useful purpose, we would like to drop this column and instead match individual entries solely based on their _desc values.
