We are planning to modify the Biotics Record Copy functionality for Tracking records so that the External Identifiers grid is included in fields that are copied.

These changes will be made in a Biotics release on or after May 19, 2022.

The "shallow" copy (copies one tracking record at a time) will be modified to include data in the External Identifiers grid which appears in the Documentation section of Botanical and Zoological records.

Technical Details:

COPY_EST procedure will also copy OTHER_EST_ID rows related to the EST being copied.

COPY_ENT procedure will also copy OTHER_ENT_ID rows related to the ENT being copied.

COPY_EGT procedure will also copy OTHER_EGT_ID rows related to the EGT being copied.

The "deep" copy (copies and Element Global Tracking record and all related global, national, and subnational element records) uses the shallow copy procedure to copy tracking records so any change applied to shallow copy will also occur in deep copy.

Note that the Record Copy functionality populates these tables using the data stored in the element record being copied. If the destination element record originally contains any data in these tables, the original rows will be deleted, regardless of whether any rows are copied from the source element record.
