PROBLEM:
The GPS metadata, including horizontal accuracy, from a map question in ArcGIS Survey123 is not preserved when editing an existing submission in the web app (for our purposes, the QC Dashboard). Because this is a required field, when the user submits changes to a survey response in the QC Dashboard, they are prevented from doing so because Locational Uncertainty Distance (Class) is a required field. Despite having data within the Locational Uncertainty Distance (Class) field, it is not recognized in Edit mode.
SOLUTION:
According to a note from 10/17/2023 in my Esri caseNumber=03408566, the fact that the edit version (mode=edit) is not recognizing the recorded locational uncertainty distance is a bug and we're at the mercy of Esri to fix it. A workaround is to apply the following changes to the QC survey ONLY:
- Delete yes from the required column for Locational Uncertainty Distance Class and Locational Uncertainty Distance Unit
- Change the appearance column to hidden for the same 2 rows
